To qualify for the Digital Nomad Visa
- Proof of Remote Employment or Freelance Work – Provide evidence of ongoing work relationships or contracts.
- Minimum Income – Meet the minimum income threshold as set by the Spanish government.
- Health Insurance – Have valid private health insurance covering your stay in Spain.
- Clean Criminal Record – Submit a background check from your country of origin.
Requirements
The following requirements apply to all applicants for the DIgital Nomad Visa:
- NIE Number – Apply for a NIE number before the visa application (we can do this for you).
- Visa Application Form – Complete and sign the form.
- Photograph – Provide a recent, passport-size photo.
- Valid Passport – Original and copy of your passport valid for at least 1 year.
- Criminal Record – Certificate from the past 2 years.
- Proof of Residence – Legal residence proof in your consular district.
- Visa Fee – Pay the visa fee at submission.
- Health Insurance – You will need to prove you are covered by the UK national health system and at the same time you will need to have private health care in Spain (depending on your personal circumstances).
For remote workers, there are additional requirements regarding proof of employment:
- Proof of Employment – Certification of at least 3 months of work for a foreign company.
- Company Documentation – Certification of company creation date and business type.
Additional important information
Decision deadline – This is legally set at 10 days, but this period may be extended if an interview or additional documents are required.
Visa collection – Collect in person or legal representative within 1 month of notification.
Validity – Valid for up to 1 year if the visa is applied from your country of origin or 3 years if it is applied from Spain.
Visa refusal will always be notified in writing.
All foreign documents must be legalized by the consulates of the issuing country or, in the case of signatory countries to the Hague Convention of October 5, 1961, hold the Hague Apostille. Official documents issued by a Member State of the European Union do not require legalization.
